Der Tonle Sap gegen Ende der Trockenzeit Mitte Mai. Auf dem Höhepunkt der Regenzeit steht dieses Dorf im Wasser und kann nur per Boot erreicht werden.

Der See Tonle Sap und der gleichnamige Fluss bilden das Herz Kambodschas. Der See gehört zu den fischreichsten Gewässern der Erde. Während der Regenzeit werden riesige Flächen überflutet, da das Wasser des Mekong von Phnom Penh aus über den Fluss Tonle Sap in den See drückt. Dabei kann er seine Fläche fast bis zum siebenfachen (!) vergrößern. Nach Abfluss des Wasser bleibt frisches Schwemmland zurück, das zwei Reisernten pro Jahr ermöglicht.

The lake Tonle Sap and the river of the same name are the heart of Cambodia. The lake has one of the highest fish populations in the world. During the rainy season a huge expanse of lands gets flooded because the water of the river Mekong gets pressed into the lake via the river Tonle Sap. During that time the lakes area can extend sevenfold (!). When the flood is gone it leaves fertile soil which allows two rice harvests per year.

Diese Mutter und ihr Kind sind gut trainierte (meist vietnamesische) Bettler, die versuchen "one Dollar, one Dollar, oh please one Dollar" zu ergattern. Die Kinder springen auf's Touri-Boot und lassen erst los, wenn sie ihr Ziel erreicht haben. Anschließend springen sie ins Wasser und ziehen halb laufend, halb schwimmend durch's das sehr flache, sehr schlammige Wasser zurück zu ihrem Boot.

Those mammys and her kids are welltrained (mostly vietnamese) beggars, trying to get "one Dollar, one Dollar, oh please one Dollar". The kids jump onto your boat and hold on until they get what they desire. After having success they jump into the water and half walk, half swim back to their family through the shallow muddy water.
